NEW Kids at the Y
The NEW Kids at the Y Program offers:
- YMCA sites in the metropolitan Milwaukee area.
- Family focused, weekly group education meetings.
- Nutrition education and lifestyle change for children and parents.
- Exercise education and many opportunities to be active.
- Coordinated care and consultation with your doctor.
To get started with NEW KIDS at the Y:
- Download and print the NEW Kids at the Y parent information packet.
- Download and print the NEW Kids at the Y information letter. Then, take this letter to your doctor's office.
- Contact the YMCA of Greater Milwaukee for help getting started. Learn more here.
Tips to start weight management today:
- Eat three meals a day. Strive to eat at least one meal at the family table.
- Allow less than two hours of sedentary activity per day.
- Aim for at least one hour of physical activity each day.
- Eliminate sweetened beverages.
