Milwaukee (2/21/2012) - A coalition of stakeholders will hold a press conference and visit legislators to voice support for concussion legislation. Because children and adolescents are more susceptible than adults to concussion, this bill helps promote education and awareness of concussion. Athletes, parents and coaches all need to have a basic understanding of concussion to decrease the amount of mismanagement surrounding the injury.

WHAT: The Assembly passed AB 259 last year unanimously. There are bipartisan authors of the legislation and strong bipartisan support. The coalition is urging the Senate to schedule a vote on the bill, SB 243 before the session ends in March.
