MILWAUKEE (8/12/2010) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin leaders are publicly thanking members of the Wisconsin delegation, including Sens. Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold, Reps. Steve Kagen, Ron Kind, David Obey and Gwen Moore, for their support of legislation to extend the enhanced Medicaid matching funds (FMAP). The extension, which runs through June 2011, provides critical funding for the Medicaid budget, which is crucial for hospitals such as Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Nearly 50 percent of the children receiving care at Children's Hospital rely on Medicaid for health care coverage. Under the bill, Wisconsin will receive $185 million in Medicaid (FMAP) assistance. |
