MILWAUKEE (8/14/2007) - Kevin Walter, MD, FAAP, has joined the Variety Club Orthopedic Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin as a sports medicine specialist. He will also treat nonsurgical orthopedic issues.
Walter received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his Pediatric residency and was a chief resident at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Walter completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Akron Children's Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine. He is most noted for treating children and adolescents with nonoperative orthopedic issues including back pain, concussion, and traumatic and overuse musculoskeletal injuries.
Walter regularly gives lectures and has published articles on various sports medicine topics. He also is an assistant professor of Orthopedics at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Medical Advisory Board.
The Orthopedic Center at Children's Hospital is ranked among the best in the nation.
