MADISON (3/14/2007) - The 15th annual SARIS Spoke Out Ride and Walk benefiting Children's Service Society of Wisconsin's Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 12, 2007, starting and ending at Olin Park in Madison, Wis. The event features a bike ride around Lake Monona, a 30-mile ride with members of the Bombay Bicycle Club or a two-mile fun walk.
"Each year, more than 40,000 children are reported abused or neglected in Wisconsin," said Kevin Brown, program manager for Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin. "The SARIS Spoke Out provides individuals in the greater-Madison community and beyond with the opportunity to fight back against child abuse and neglect."
Proceeds from the event will support services provided by Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin, a non-profit program that works to strengthen child abuse prevention efforts throughout Wisconsin. Pre-registration is $20 for adults and $5 for youth 17 and under. Children under 5 years old are free.
Participants are invited to create their own donation raising pages and register online at www.firstgiving.com/pcaw. For more information about the event, call (608) 256-3374.
