MILWAUKEE (3/14/2007) - Children's Hospital and Health System Foundation recently announced a $69,000 gift from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin to improve services for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. The gift makes it possible for services for hospital patients – such as art therapy, schooling and day care – to be available to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House of Milwaukee is located across the street from Children's Hospital. Overnight accommodations are available for families of children receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment at Children's Hospital. Children's Hospital refers more than 500 families to the Ronald McDonald House each year.
"We are grateful for the ongoing support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities," said Maggie Butterfield, director of Patient Amenities and Family Services at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. "Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Ronald McDonald House have enjoyed a fabulous relationship for a number of years. Both organizations are committed to helping improve the overall experience of families and this gift enables us to offer families additional services and some of the comforts of home."
