MILWAUKEE (2/28/2007) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has named Mark Ship vice president of Access and Referral Systems.
Ship will oversee Patient Amenities and Family Services, Admitting/Scheduling/Registration Services, Bed Management, Nutritional Services, Emergency Department/Trauma Center, Transport Services, Urgent Care Services, Wisconsin Poison Center, Volunteer Services and the Welcome Desks. Ship's position is newly created and designed to improve access to the Milwaukee hospital for patients and families, referring physicians and other customers.
Ship most recently served as the vice president of Service for a privately held startup company. He previously held various leadership positions at GE Healthcare during his 23 years with General Electric.
He received a bachelor's degree in Finance/Marketing from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He is also Six Sigma certified.
Ship lives with his wife, daughter and son in Glendale, Wis.
