Overview

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin understands that traveling with a sick child to a new city can be stressful. In order to make your trip to Children's Hospital as easy as possible, we have developed a program that helps out-of-town families coordinate their travel arrangements to Milwaukee.
While many of the travel arrangements listed can be made by families, a number of negotiated discounts only are available through the Children's Hospital Family Accommodations Program.

Transportation
To get to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin from outside the Milwaukee area, following is a partial list of airlines, train, bus and automobile rental providers.
Air Travel:

We know traveling from out of the area can place financial strains on some families. Through special arrangements with several commercial and charitable air transportation suppliers, we are able to provide reduced or complimentary air travel for families in need. Lodging
Your family has the option of staying at the hospital or at a number of facilities near the hospital during your child's visit. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin would like to help you make arrangements that best meet your family's needs.
Staying in the hospital
A single sleeper couch is available in most patient rooms for one parent or grandparent to stay overnight. Please inform your child's nurse if you wish to stay overnight. You will be asked to wear appropriate sleep attire, such as pajamas or a sweatsuit that covers your whole body. The hospital will provide linens and a pillow. You will need to bring your own toiletries. Siblings and other minor children are not allowed to stay overnight.
A limited number of sleeping rooms are available for parents of children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Rooms can be reserved on a daily basis by asking your child's nurse. Bathrooms and showers for parents also are available by asking your child's nurse.
Ronald McDonald House
Some families stay at the Ronald McDonald House, located right across the street from Children's Hospital. Overnight accommodations are available for families of children receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment at Milwaukee area hospitals, as space allows. A donation of $10 per night is suggested. Please contact the Accommodations Program for details. After-hours or on weekends when the Family Accommodations Program is not staffed, your child's nurse can contact the Ronald McDonald House to make arrangements for you.

Area Hotels
Children's Hospital receives significantly discounted rates at several local hotels. In order to receive these special rates, rooms must be booked through our Family Accommodations Program. Please have a personal credit card ready at the time of your request, in order to hold the room.
Hampton Inn Milwaukee – Northwest
Location: 6 miles from Children's Hospital at the intersection of Silver Spring Road and Lovers Land Road, just off Highway 45.
