In recent years, the field of pediatric neurosurgery has grown in expertise, diagnosis and treatment. Today, conditions are treated at Children's Hospital that were not even recognized as diseases years ago.
A few of the more common diagnoses include:
- Spina bifida.
- Craniofacial malformations.
- Vascular problems (associated with other diseases, such as sickle cell).
- Pediatric spasticity (associated with other conditions, such as cerebral palsy).
