Many viral infections of the skin in childhood are called "viral exanthems." Exanthem is another name for a rash or skin eruption. The five most common childhood viral exanthems include the following: |

- Measles or rubeola.
- Rubella.
- Varicella (or chickenpox).
- Fifth disease.
- Roseola.
