Overview of Gastroenterology Program
The Gastroenterology (GI) staff provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for pediatric patients throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. In addition, the program serves as a national and international referral source for treatment and management of both complex and common GI problems. Comprehensive services include diagnostic, interventional and clinical care. The staff strives to provide care in an environment that recognizes diversity, confidentiality and trust. We believe that the entire family should be involved in education and treatment.
Our team consists of pediatric professionals, including gastroenterologists, physicians, nurse clinicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, speech and language pathologists, social workers and psychologists.

What happens at a clinic visit? At the first clinic visit, your child will be seen by a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist and either a nurse specializing in gastroenterology or a pediatric nurse practitioner. During this visit we will record a medical history and perform a physical examination of the child. We will determine what, if any, diagnostic tests need to be done. A plan of care will be outlined and teaching provided.
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin now offers an accommodations program to assist out-of-the area families with travel arrangements. For more information, please visit the Family Accommodations Program page.
