Community Programs
Children's Health Education Center is committed to building healthier communities - one child at a time. CHEC community initiatives that put the health and safety of children in the forefront include:
Safe Kids Wisconsin Coalition and Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin Coalition
Safe Kids Wisconsin and Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin work to prevent unintentional injuries in children age 14 and younger.
Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Milwaukee
The Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Milwaukee also works to prevent unintentional injuries in children, but focuses on seven high-risk ZIP codes in the Milwaukee area: 53204, 53206, 53208, 53209, 53210, 53212 and 53215.
Fight Asthma Milwaukee (FAM) Allies
FAM Allies provides education and essential support to children with asthma, families dealing with asthma and community members who help care for them.
Free community-wide events include booster and car seat safety checks, asthma education for parents and caregivers, and much more. With support from CHEC, these community programs do what it takes to keep kids healthy and safe. |
