We understand that individuals have different priorities and reasons for their charitable giving, and we work hard to ensure that each gift is carefully and thoughtfully used as the donor wishes. And, just as there are lots of reasons why people support Children's Hospital and Health System, there are lots of ways to provide that support:
Financial gifts. You can designate financial gifts for immediate use or have them placed in endowment to provide lasting support. Financial gifts can include cash, stocks or real estate.
Planned gifts. Your financial planner and attorney can help you establish financial and estate plans that meet both your personal and charitable objectives. Ideas to consider include a bequest in your will, gift annuities that return income to you, or charitable trusts or other plans that can benefit both your loved ones and Children's Hospital and Health System.
Fund-raising events. Children's Hospital and Health System Foundation organizes many fund-raising events each year. You can help by becoming a sponsor, or you may want to organize your own fund-raiser.
Merchandise or services. Unique, high-quality merchandise, vacations or services can be given for auctions at our many fund-raising events. Other donated services such as rental equipment, printing or catering help make our fund-raising events possible.
Toys, games and art supplies. These donations are an important part of how we care for kids. Toys, games and art supplies help children pass the time and reduce fear and anxiety. To donate these items, call our Toy Donation Hotline at (414) 266-2787.
International gifts. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is a supporting member of the Center for International Health consortium, whose mission is to improve global health by providing training, consultation, technical assistance and material resources to countries with struggling health care systems and widespread poverty. For more information about the Center and how you can help send food, medicine, medical equipment and trained medical staff to vulnerable people groups all over the world, call Emily Hoffman at (414) 257-6437. |
The gift of your time and talent can benefit the kids who depend on the services provided by Children's Hospital and Health System. There are many ways to volunteer.
Volunteer at the hospital. The volunteers at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin create a special partnership with staff and play an important role in our commitment to children. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for those who wish to volunteer their time and talents and are able to make a six-month commitment. Some of our volunteers tutor children, assist nurses or distribute books and snacks. Others provide activities for children, work in the gift shop or perform numerous office and clerical duties.

Volunteer in the community. Through Children's Hospital and Health System Foundation there are many opportunities for people who want to help but cannot make the ongoing commitment required for the hospital. Volunteers are needed to stuff mailings, package materials, speak to groups and share personal stories of care received through Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and help staff fund-raising events.
Become an advocate for children. Advocacy efforts rely on the strength and action of volunteer grassroots individuals who care about kids and want to make a difference. Too often, children don't have a voice in the decisions that affect them and their families. Children's Hospital and Health System's advocacy efforts are aimed at making sure that concerns for children are heard when public policies are made.
Become a respite care volunteer. Respite is the temporary care of a child with special needs so parents or other caregivers may have a much-needed break.
Volunteer internationally. Global relief efforts and health care development partnerships through Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Milwaukee's Center for International Health offer a chance to make a difference worldwide. Volunteers are needed to help send aid to those who need it the most. |
