Volunteer respite program

Our Volunteer Respite program strengthens families with children who have special needs by giving the parents or caregivers a much-needed break on a regular basis. Volunteers help care for children during large respite events.

Respite events include a full day of fun activities. One or two volunteers are matched with a child to provide one-on-one quality care. Nursing staff are on-hand for all toileting and medical needs.

Interested in volunteering? Volunteer groups are always welcome. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Fill out the Volunteer Respite Program Registration Form.

If you have a child with special needs or would like to volunteer, call Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services at (414) 291-4161 for more information. Volunteer Respite events are held at various locations around the Milwaukee area.
