Kenosha family travels to Washington, D.C., to advocate for children's health care

July 19, 2012

Jul. 19, 2012 - Families will ask Congress to take action to protect care for children in the face of proposed cuts to national health care programs. A Kenosha, Wis. family, will join 30 other patients and families from children's hospitals across the country to speak with members of Congress during the Children's Hospital Association's Family Advocacy Day. They will talk about the lifesaving specialty medical care they have needed and how the current budget debate needs to include protections for these services and access to care.

High school football all-stars provide life support for babies

Jul. 15, 2012 - Babies who are in critical condition and must be transported will be well cared for thanks to the generosity of high school football players. Representatives from the 2012 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Charity Football Game, benefiting Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, will present a check to Children's Hospital on Friday, July 13 at 2 p.m. The combined efforts of the players and coaches raised more than $368,000 this year for patient care programs at Children's Hospital.

Jul. 5, 2012 - Visit Children's Hospital of Wisconsin's Child Advocacy Center in Wausau and learn how added services at the newly accredited center are making a difference for children. The center provides assessments for children who may have been victims of sexual abuse or witnessed violence or homicide. The goal is to protect children from abuse and provide resources to help them heal.
