Wisconsin school that implements healthy initiative could be visited by Super Bowl champion Donald Driver

Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading receiver, “Dancing with the Stars” champion and four-time children’s book author Donald Driver is teaming up with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin for a second year to continue their push to make the children of Wisconsin the healthiest in the nation.

Registration is now open for Driven to Better Health, a school- and community-based wellness partnership sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for Wisconsin children and families. Registration is open to school staff and administrators at all Wisconsin Elementary and Middle Schools.

MILWAUKEE – Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new, state-of-the-art sibling care room, Playroom of Hope, on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 3:30 p.m. in its new home on the hospital’s second floor. Playroom of Hope was made possible through the generous fundraising efforts of the Wallace family, whose daughter Nevaeh Wallace received care at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin before passing away from a severe heart defect.
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin names new medical director of Community Services

MILWAUKEE - Heather Paradis, MD, MPH, has been selected to serve as medical director, Community Services for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She will provide medical input to the child welfare, community services and public policy team helping Children’s Hospital evaluate the needs of children in the community and identify resources to enhance the well-being of those children.

She succeeds Veronica Gunn, MD, MPH, FAAP, who formally held the role before being promoted to vice president for Children’s Population Health Management and Payment Innovation. Dr. Gunn will continue to focus Children’s efforts to improve the health of children, lower the cost of care, develop new payment models and enhance the patient and client experience.
