Kohl’s Cares Grow Safe & Healthy Program urges parents to practice safety when mowing and to teach children about lawn mower dangers to prevent serious injuries

Each year, nearly 10,000 children are treated in emergency departments and hospitals for injuries related to lawn mowers. These injuries can be devastating, but they are also preventable. Almost all occur while a parent or relative is driving the lawn mower. The Kohl’s Cares Grow Safe & Healthy Program, a partnership of Kohl’s Cares and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, provides the following safety tips and reminders to help keep children safe from lawn mower injuries.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin only pediatric hospital in the nation selected to participate in 15-site Alliance for Strong Families and Communities neuroscience initiative

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin announced today that it was selected as one of 15 non-profit and non-governmental organization sites in the United States and Canada to participate in “Change in Mind: Apply Neuroscience to Revitalize Communities,” a three-year initiative of the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Norlien Foundation. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is the only children’s hospital in the nation that was chosen to participate in the Change in Mind initiative.
Children’s Community Health Plan exceeds Pay-for-Performance Measures

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recently released the results of the 2013 Pay-for-Performance (P4P) program, which it offers to health plans that serve the BadgerCare Plus program. Children’s Community Health Plan (CCHP) is proud to announce that its results met or exceeded performance measure goals defined by the Department for BadgerCare Plus members in southeastern Wisconsin.
