(6/9/15) Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has been ranked in 9 specialty areas in the U.S. News & World Report's 2015-16 Best Children’s Hospitals report.
(5/1/15) Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin was awarded Hospital of the Month recognition from the Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) collaborative because of our safety outcomes, reduction of harm, and safety training and education initiative.
(4/30/15) 2015 Lab of the Year awarded by Medical Laboratory Observer.
(4/16/15) The Epilepsy Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin has once again been recognized as a Level 4 epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. NAEC has recognized our center with a two-year designation, which provides us with a Level 4 status through 2016.
(2/19/15) Becker's Hospital Review named Peggy Troy, CEO, to its annual list, "130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know." These women demonstrate outstanding leadership within the hospital and healthcare industry and were chosen based on a wide range of management and leadership skills, including oversight of hospital or health system operations, financial turnarounds and quality improvement initiatives.
(11/8/14) Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin was recognized again this year by Milwaukee Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers® awards program. Children’s received fourth-place honors in the program’s large category (1000+ employees). Healthiest Employers recognizes southeastern Wisconsin employers for improving the quality of life for their employees through a commitment to creating a healthy workplace.
(6/11/14) U.S. News & World Report has ranked Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in all 10 specialties in the new 2014-15 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. This ranking is just one of a number of awards that recognizes Children’s as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation.
(5/6/14) Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin once again earned the highly coveted Magnet Recognition Program® status for the third consecutive time from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
(1/5/14) The YMCA honored Children's Hospital of Wisconsin with the Potawatomi Bingo Casino Diversity and Inclusion Award for our commitment to bridging gaps in our community by offering health care services in communities that have large health care disparities and few health care options.
(10/1/13) Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Primary Care has been recognized for performance in the areas of patient satisfaction and effective practice management by the Medical Group Management Association. More than 2,400 medical groups responded to the most recent survey, and fewer than 50 attained the classification of superior/better performance management. Children's Primary Care has be awarded this distinction each year since 2006.

(5/24/13) Southwest Pediatrics is featured in the American Academy of Pediatrics monograph, Positioning the Family and Patient at the Center. This primary care clinic has dedicated its efforts to improving the patient experience and quality of care using the Medical Home Model to facilitate family networking, increase accessibility of care and create of a parent advisory board to guide practice improvements.
(5/5/13) Heather Sanders, RN, cardiac nurse, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, was selected as the 2013 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Nurse of the Year by a panel of health care providers.
(4/17/13) Eileen Clark, MSM, CCLS, Family Services manager, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, was elected to the Child Life Council Board of Directors. Child Life Council represents trained professionals from around the country with expertise in helping children and their families overcome life's most challenging events.
(2/6/13) Stephanie Lenzner, corporate director, Information Planning and Management, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin was selected for the Business Journal's Forty Under 40 class of 2013.
(2/4/13) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is ranked #4 in the nation by Parents magazine, Preemie and Newborn Care #1 and Emergency Care #3.
(1/29/13) - One hundred eighty-six Children's Hospital of Wisconsin physicians are listed on the 2013 Best Doctors in America® List. These physicians represent 68 percent of the state's pediatricians and pediatric specialists rated Best Doctors.
(1/21/13) - Two hundred fifty Children's Hospital of Wisconsin physicians are listed as M Magazine's 2013 Top-rated Doctors.
(9/25/12) – Drs. Julie Talano and Sam Milanovich were selected as 2012 Hyundai Hope on Wheels Scholars. Hyundai and its dealers presented Dr. Talano a check for $250,000 and Dr. Milanovich a check for $75,000. The grants will support research into better ways to treat leukemia and make bone marrow transplants safer.
(8/10/12) - Brian Fidlin, PsyD, psychologist in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Center, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, received the 2012 Early Career Psychologist Award from the Milwaukee Area Psychological Association. He was selected in recognition of the significant contributions he has made to the field of psychology and the positive impact he has made in the Milwaukee community.
(6/15/12) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has been awarded a $2.8 million grant from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation to pilot a program designed to reduce health care costs and improve quality of care. Children's is creating an Advanced Wrap Network Model of culturally sensitive professional, clinical and social resources to educate members of Children's Community Health Plan (CCHP)
(5/20/12) - Keith T. Oldham, MD, has been elected president of the American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA.)
(5/16/12) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has been designated a Level 4 epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level of medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.
(4/28/12) - The Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault honored Elizabeth Ghilardi, Forensic Interview Program supervisor, Child Protection Center, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, with the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award for her efforts to advocate for children affected by abuse and neglect.
(4/19/12) - Lisa M. Floeter, RN, pediatric intensive care, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, received the Blood Center's 2012 Joan Heimler Lagacy of Life Scholarship Award. Her award-winning essay was evaluated on patient care, education and advocacy in the organ and tissue donation community, and demonstration of the American Association of Critical Care values and ethics, such as dignity, integrity and collaboration.
(2/13/12) - Robert Rohloff, MD, Southwest Pediatrics has been named Wisconsin Medical Society's Physician Citizen of the Year. The award recognizes and encourages Wisconsin physicians who volunteer their time and talents through civic and cultural activities, helping to improve the health and well-being of their communities
(1/16/12) - The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Praveen S. Goday, MD, MBBS, CNSC, the winner of the 2012 Excellence in Nutrition Support Education Award.
(1/5/2012) - Kitty Montgomery, MS, RN, PCNS-BC, CPHON, was selected as one of the Business Journal''s Forty under 40 recipients. The program features profiles of 40 Milwaukee-area individuals younger than 40 who are making a difference in their professions and communities.
(12/9/11) - Robert Rohloff, MD, a 2011 BizTimes Health Care Heroes award. The annual awards honor southeastern Wisconsin people and organizations that are making a difference on the front lines of health care.
(10/27/11) - The Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy has awarded a three-year re-accreditation to The Medical College of Wisconsin's Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) program for pediatric and adult autologous and allogeneic transplantation at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital.
(10/2/11) - Kitty Montgomery, MS, RN, PCNS-BC, CPHON, has been awarded the 2011 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Nursing Star award. Recipients demonstrate excellence in leadership and in professional involvement at work, professional organizations(s) or through health care-related activities.
(10/23/11) - Sheryn Abraham, MD and Andrew Leslie, MD, were voted among the top pediatricians in Kenosha County in 2011 as part of a readers' choice poll sponsored by the Kenosha News.
(9/2/11) - Becker's Hospital Review lists Peggy Troy, CEO, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin as a Leader to Know.
(9/14/11) - The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction awarded Children's Health Education Center the 2011 Friend of Education Award. State Superintendent Tony Evers presented the award to Bridget Clementi, director of Community Health, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, for significant contributions made to students across the state.
(9/12/11) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, along with 72 hospitals with 91 teams from pediatric and cardiac intensive care units around the country, is participating in groundbreaking work to prevent bloodstream infections among hospitalized children and saving the pediatric health care system more than $100 million. Thomas Rice, MD co-authored the findings that were published in the October 2011 issue of Pediatrics. The Quality Transformation Network team at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin includes members from the PICU, Central Access Team, Pharmacy and Outcomes Department.
(8/22/11) - The MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin was recently selected as a Phase 1 Center by the Children's Oncology Group. The designation is an elite award given to only 21 centers in the world. The MACC Fund Center is the only site in Wisconsin to offer early phase clinical research to children suffering from cancer.

(5/19/11) - Steven J. Weisman, MD, received the 2011 Jeffrey Lawson Award from the American Pain Society.
(5/12/11) - Children's Hospital of Wisconsin receives accreditation for its Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship.
(3/3/11) - The lactation management team at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin received the IBCLC Care Award from the International Board of Certified Lactation Examiners and the International Lactation Consultants Association. The award recognizes hospitals, birthing facilities and birthing services that hire certified lactation consultants and have a dedicated lactation support program available at least five days a week.
